Question

What is Your Average Resting Heart Rate

The other night I learned my Resting Heart Rate was now in the mid 40's. Doctor's & Nurses were very concerned till they found out my cardio schedule. So now I'm curious as to the Resting Heart Rate levels of other fitness conscious individuals on this forum. Thanks.

"Normal" for an adult is 60-100 per AHA
Average (IMO)is prob 75-100 if I had to guess for the U.S.

My resting HR range is between 44-48 bpm. I believe my maximum HR is 185 bpm. I recently completed a 10k fun-run during which my average HR for the entire 45 minutes was 169 bpm. I'm almost 51 years young.

Keep up the HR training as our heart is our most important muscle. There's nothing better than the feeling of a strong heart beating away at a slow pace. Kind of like a high-performance, big engine car driving down the street at 20 mph.

56-60. Gets up into the 120-130's range during cardio. On squat day and deadlift day - it gets into the high 130's.

Low 50s thanks to my 5k training. Before starting that training, I was probably low 60s.

My RHR is in the low 50's first thing in the morning. My highest recorded MHR is 191, but I think the real maximum might be a tad higher.

just measured it now @ 44, though I believe the lowest reading will be obtained by measuring it when youre totally relaxed, perhaps on waking of a morning.

anyone else find their heartbeat working against them when it comes to getting to sleep?

My RHR has always been around 55-60 regardless of my cardio fitness. Even when I was in my top shape running a 15:30 5k in college I was still around the same RHR. My heart is just a go getter, or it may just be that it's hard to find me in a constant state of rest for any extended period of time.

My resting heart rate is less than my age (about 47 bpm < 53 years old).
