When to run, before or after

Hey all,

What I usually do is lift my upper body then run and do drills on the field out back. Is there any problem with this like my muscles won't get stronger or anything like that? Also, should I drink my Cell-Tech after lifting but before running or after both?

You shouldn't do cardio and weight lifting at the same time.

If I had to pick, I'd run after. You'll have more energy to lift heavier. Muscle is the best fat burner there is. Have your post workout drink after your weights, and more after running.

The only time you would want to do cardio the same day as training is if you are prepping for a contest or some other event. In that case, do the cardio first thing in the morning, have some clean protein before hand, and train at night. Or, you can train first, deplete your glycogen stores then hit the cardio. Just be sure to use your energy, power and glycogen for weights. Remember the post training feeding to get the maximum results from your training.

Yeah.. that means no fries or burgers!

I find that if you go to the gym.. do an intense workout... then go to the sauna afterwards and the jacuzzi, it relaxes your muscles and I thought it helps deplete your glycogen quicker (can anyone verify this?). Anyway.. I notice it actually Helps to do that... I have gained 1 inch on my upper chest in about 6 weeks doing that 3 times a week, so it can't be all bad..
