Why are my Abs so week?

So once again I've started a gym schedule which I plan on sticking too but I've one concern .. that being my abs seem so week!
I'm naturally skinny though never see my abs (I know I need to eat right and lower body fat) and although I work on my abs twice a week I seem to be getting nowhere as I can only do around 8 sit ups before I gotta stop.

The sit ups I do is where my upper back comes off the ground a bit then I go back down to where I touch and come straight back up. Even now I can still only do around 8, what am I doing wrong?

Cheers

Maybe cause they should be weak instead?

You should incorporate a ton more ab exercises into workout plan though cause if you're only doing those sissy halfway pushups you're only targeting some specific muscle groups. There are more ab exercises than you can shake a stick at, so once your ab workout incorporates more, harder to exercises you would be able to bang out a 100 crunches no sweat.

Thought sissy halfway pushups where the way to do it.
What you're saying makes sense, I'll look into what other ab workouts are available.

Add some resistance (either via cables or putting weights on your chest). If you want them stronger you need to add more resistance.

Worked them today hard for probably the first time, did 100 sit ups in a row (in groups of 6 with a 3 second grunting between each) and use the cable machines and medicine balls. Also raised my legs while lying down etc ... felt good, and feels a tad sore now so I'll see what happens.

Am currently working with Weights 3x weekly and Cardio 2x weekly, have no idea what sort of body I'm building .. guess I'll wait and see.
