yes, overdosing on vitamin C can be harmful, leading to digestive and kidney problems. It generally surfaces as diarhea or nausea first. Its an individual thing, "overdose" symptoms can occur at relatively low dosages (500mg) but some show no symptoms with up to 10g a day. I suggest putting "vitamin c overdose" into google and reading up.

If you do suffer at them doses it will only be local GIT. It can happen with most medications. Kidney problems are a t high doses and is a genetic disposition. Adequate water intake is a sufficient guard for most.

I have often taken 10g plus of vitC.

Would be no harm to up your levels for a while or go on an adaptogen such as ginseng.

Not a problem to "mega-dose" vitamin C, however it should be spread out over the day in mulitple doses. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin and will be pissed out in 90 minutes.

The body will only use a small amount of any vitamin at a time so if you want to take high doses, spread the dosage over the day.
If you take 250mg in the morning you will piss the magority of it out by midday.
The body will only assimulate about 100mg per day (60mg) is rda.
Remember yr body is a machine with limits, not a slot machine lol

Where is your evidence for this?

bodyshop, the question still stands, all he (and I) asked for was some justification.............and Max provides plenty of help to this board.

A lot of the advice you tend to dish out seems like it came directly from the pages of Flex magazine. Not trying to be a dick, just saying that's how it appears to me.

Do you have any justification for your recommendation of 100mg per day?

I along with f-mac and maxgain would like a source. Are you just going by the RDA? Do you only get 50g of protein a day too?
