Question

Working out at home??

Hey there...I'm a work-at-home mom and I can't ever find a moment to get out to a gym or fitness classes. I recently looked in the mirror and simply burst into tears. I don't when this happened to me or even how...but I've become absolutely fat and repulsive! Does anyone have any advice for me...any kind of workout/diet I can do at home?? I would really appreciate any help.

What are your stats?

Try to set specific goals, that is the best way to get where your going.

Try reading over a lot of the posts made here, youo will learn sooo much , or at least I did . But generally you'd want to eat more frequently, every 2-3 hours, lift and get some cardio in there.

Most importantly try reading up and then set a schedule then stick to it.

Hey there Oh! I know what you're going through. After having my lil girl I just didn't have the time nor the energy to work off the weight I had put on and it just got worse and worse from there. I can't stand gyms as it is, but it's not like I'd ever have the time to get out to one anyways. Recently my sister came by and she looked amazing! She'd lost 30 pounds and 10 inches!! I don't know where she found the time. Apparently she'd started working out at home using that Power 90 workout. It's pretty comprehensive, has cardio aerobics, strength training/toning, yoga, and ab work in addition to a diet guide. I've been doing it for about 3 weeks now, and it's been great. Generally I have no will power when it comes to diet and fitness (as my physical condition prominently displayed) but I'm having fun and it's really going well. The exercises are simple to follow, but definitely effective. I haven't tried any other home workouts but you might want to look into this one. www.power90workout.com

Good luck to you! Yeah, the hardest part is getting started. But you'll feel so much better once you do and get yourself into a healthy routine!

Good luck on your efforts with the Power90 program, luvn2smile.

So, OhItsMe, you've just reached that stage of realization, eh? We've all been there. The obvious question is what to do about it. If you would supply some basic information about yourself, then it will be easier for us to help you understand how to direct you.

² Your gender (male or female)
² Your height & weight
² Your body fat percentage (if you know)
² Your current activity level & exercise plan
² Your current eating habits
² What type of excercise equipment do you have?
² What exercise experience have you had?
² How much time will you dedicate?
² What needs fixing?

Thank you Luv for the tip about the Power 90 workout! I took a look at the site. It seemed like a good investment to start with. I like the wide range of activity is covers. I liked how it incorporates yoga with the cardio. You'll have to keep me updated on how you do with it. I'll try to do likewise. I'm really excited to get going with it.

As for my stats, I could stand to lose a good 50 pounds. I've been so inactive for much too long. I'm trying to eat better but it's so hard with my schedule. I end up picking up fast food all too often. I'm just at such a loss when it comes to nutrition.

*sigh* It's gonna be an uphill battle!

What do you like to do?
Maybe get a punching bag- some gloves and a Tae Bo Tape
Or
Go on some hard fast diet like Scarsdale or Atkins and
Take up Yoga/Pilates at the same time.

Here is my winning combination, and I have shed 15 pounds after 3 weeks. AND holding I might add.

I purchased an Exerswiss Ball for about $25 on sale at HealthyBack.com then picked up the Strength Ball Training Book by Lorne Goldenberg for a variety of exercises.

This ball is great for my abs, most of my weight is in my waist unfortunately.

I am diligently following the Scarsdale Medical Diet, HAH. Not really, I actually cheat BUT still lose weight. It’s pretty tough. I walk on the beach every afternoon for an hour. Then I night I do yoga, best DVD is Yoga Conditioning with Suzanne Deason

What ever you decide you MUST diet and exercise together, otherwise forget losing any weight. And do all your cardio LAST after your resistance training.

Otherwise according to my trainer friend you get a reverse affect. Burning muscle instead of body fat. It is really way less complicated than it sounds, but start with doing what you like otherwise you won’t do anything at all.

You need to be careful about the "hard fast diet" That is never very good for your body, and is usually short term. The best way to get/stay healthy is to change the way you eat/exercise every day. You need to make it part of your routine, and in time you will grow to love it, like most people here. And the more time passes by the better you will feel about it... added energy, stronger, trimmer, more confident etc. But I know many, many people that have done the latest diet trend.. and it just does not last.. most people just shoot back up in weight after they are done, because they didn't form good habits.

my 2 cents.

good luck!
