A great song for Valentine's Day
I stumbled across this website looking for Bobby Vinton's song "Roses are Red" for Valentine's Day. Most middle-age men know who Bobby Vinton is but all you young bucks at DF may not.
Anyway, in addition to the chocolate, roses and Valentine's Day card, here is something else you might want to use.
When I listen to this song, it reminds me of a long, long time ago, being a little boy and watching Dick Clark's American Bandstand (you young bucks at DF may not know what that is either).
Anywho, enjoy this: ~ Roses Are Red ~

OMG that song reminds me of my Mom!
I remember her nurturing my love of music (that song was on a collection) through show tunes, silly piano teachings, the Tijuana Brass and her relentless teasing me singing lyrics that pulled at a kid's heartstrings and made me cry!
My Dad told me she really was crazy about Elvis Presley and the Beatles even though she was supposed to be past that kind of thing.
Thanks for the memory Mr. P!

Well Brat I can really tell by your exclamation marks that song really did the same job on you that it did on me. I'm going to have fun sending it out on Valentine's Day and see how many more exclamation marks I can get. It's cool being middle-age, rich in memories.
But I guess I need to find another song for you for Valentine's Day as it wouldn't have the same impact the second time around.
I can hardly wait. I'm going to have fun next week!

It's embarrassing because I'm not old enough to know who he is. I do have some of his songs though.
Brat, you just reminded me of Herb Albert. Yep, I've got some of that stuff too.

Herb Albert is the man. :
Go get the CD, North on South St. My kids grew up on that one. He has now crossed generations in my family ( for me it was sneaking a peak at the album cover Whipped Cream, naughty or what?!!!!)
As far as Valentines day goes, give me a good Joni Mitchell song. No one writes like that anymore!
Help me
I think Im falling
In love again
When I get that crazy feeling, I know
Im in trouble again
Im in trouble
cause youre a rambler and a gambler
And a sweet-talking-ladies man
And you love your lovin
But not like you love your freedom
Help me
I think Im falling
In love too fast
Its got me hoping for the future
And worrying about the past
cause Ive seen some hot hot blazes
Come down to smoke and ash
We love our lovin
But not like we love our freedom
Didnt it feel good
We were sitting there talking
Or lying there not talking
Didnt it feel good
You dance with the lady
With the hole in her stocking
Didnt it feel good
Didnt it feel good
Help me
I think Im falling
In love with you
Are you going to let me go there by myself
Thats such a lonely thing to do
Both of us flirting around
Flirting and flirting
Hurting too
We love our lovin
But not like we love our freedom

So you think my valentines music selection from DMX would be inappropriate then?

Yeah, my wife doesn't get him either. Her tastes tend to be closer to yours. She's a Joni Mitchell fan too.
My kids pulled one on me with the old, "how can you condemn it if you haven't tried it?" arguement. So I now FORBID the younger to listen to him, but am hooked myself. An old white guy in a 4x4 pickup with DMX playing..it doesn't seem to fit.

Well I still don't know the connection. What is something DMX that everyone should know?

DMX is a rapper who is ummm caustic. That's the most tactful way I can put it.
I really don't want to post the names of any of his songs anywhere on the forum.

So I'm sitting at home this Sunday listening to "Roses are Red" over and over and I just came up with a clever idea. I'm going to send this to all my female clients who are around my age on Valentine's Day so when I send them my next billing that's a little bit higher than last year they won't even blink an eye.
I'll let you know if it worked.

OK if you are not a fan of "Roses are Red", here is a website link that probably has over 2 dozen songs to choose from (all free) that you can send your Valentine on Valentine's Day. There's got to be something here for even the most discriminating younger crowd. If not, you can use it for some refreshing elevator music.
Enjoy, here it is: ~ Blue Eyes Place ~

I have two DMX songs downloaded that I like to listen to when I w/o.-lol- they are fast.....
The best all around album for Valentines Day is the sound tack from Notting Hill.
To name a few:
Shania Twain (You've gone away)
Elvis Costello (She)
Bill Withers (Aint no Sunshine)
Al Green (How can you mend a broken Heart)
9- others that a good as well.....
