agreed... movie was rubbish... the beauty of ali g is the reaction of the people he is interviewing.... basically his character is a wannabe bling bling gangster from staines as you see in the movies.... he basically interviews people and the people think he is for real... and don't realise its for a comedy show..... trust me there are side-splitting moments sometimes.... as for his other characters.. borat the kazahkstani tv presenter and bruno the gay fashion critic..... with borat he uses his apparent lack of the english language to make things funny.... this guy pushes interviewees to the limit with absurd and stupid remarks... but they think he's like that because he is foreign, and that he might not be saying things right because of his poor grasp of english and indeed the different cultural background he would have from kazakhstan..... his last series "ali g in the USA" was very good .. he went to a basebal game.. not a huge one.. but there was quite a crowd... they convinced the organisers of the game that they were doin a documentary on spotrs and that borat wanted to say a few words to the crowd... so he gets on the mike.... and tells everyone " i like US and A... do you like US and A" and the crowd go "yeaaahhhhh" "i like a baseballs,, do you like a baseballs" crowd: "yeaahhh" "i like you , do you like me?" crowd seem flummoxed and stay quiet.. he then gets a "USA USA USA" chants goin.. but of course in the form of " US and A US and A" the crowd kinda go along with it... he then stops and requests that everyone stands and stays quiet out of respect for the kazakstani national anthem... which he then proceeds to sing down the mike.... which appears cunningly authentic... but goes on forever and ever....... if you can get hold of the "ali g in the usa series" you will enjoy. he interviews the head of the FBI, CIA and ex-vice presidents and other top figures... one huge ali g/borat/bruno fan.....
