I really like this movie and I bought the dvd Sunday and finally watched it over the course of 3 days.

Do you think that Mr. Fitts (USMC dad) killed Lester (Spacey) because of the kiss or because of his son?

Well I think it's a combination of the two.

He thinks Lester is gay so he goes up and kisses him. When Lester rejects the kiss, Mr. Fitts thinks to himself, "but he was doing that stuff with my son and yet he won't do it with me" and he snaps and boom, he shoots him.

A pretty dark yet funny movie... I'll never look at roses the same way.
