Begin Again

So my friends who are close noticed that I burried my head in my work and something has been missing from me after 9/11 (other then my brother)
They have talked me in to picking up the guitar again.
Most of you don't know that I was guitar player.
I was better know for my writing with my bass player at the time. Stupid kid that I was "I wanted to play my own songs" so I never sold the rights.
Any way I picked up the guitar again last night and learned "I Dare You" from Shinedown.
But man the guitars now feel like a stick of wood.
I need to get used to the feeling again.
It's like learning to play all over I forgot sooo much.
6 years away from it I hope it comes back like riding a bike.

Struggling to go forward even when it feels like we are just staying in one spot is still better than sliding backwards don't ya think? So keep up the struggle because in the end we are just better, stronger people. Or that's what I tell myself every day and it keeps me going just as you keep going. Hang in there my friend.

i have been playing bass and guitar for about 8 years now and all i can say is i don't think i could stop. while playing may not change anything in the outside world, it can make a lot of difference within. it helps keep me happy on a day to day basis and i hope as well as believe that it can do the same for you.

I thought the same too.
I have guitar tattoos and a few months ago I had said I wanted to cover them. That's how the discussion started about "Why do you play anymore?"
But yes I thought Guitars would be a part of my life forever.
Funny how I haven't touched one for 6 years.

Hey, I never got past louie louie and wild thing when it comes to playing well... Same song...almost. My kid loves to show me up when we play. Little brat can tear down on some ozzy stuff. Zach Wilde she aint...yet. But someday...
