Building new gaming machine

How does this sound ?

OK on newegg

$211.00 - AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor - OEM
$208.00 - NEW CHAINTECH ZNF3-250 ZENITH NVIDIA NFORCE3 250 800MHZ FSB SOCKET 754 AMD ATHLON 64 CHAINTECH
( could not find on newegg ) http://anandtech.dealtime.com

------
$419.00 Which leaves about 200 clams for gaming ram.

Feedback ?

Clan leader rolled through town on way to transcontinental move to San Diego, nice guy we grilled out steaks, had him over 2 during 3 day weekend.

Looks like a powerful machine.

I just went with a 2.66 p4, and ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe. Let's just say I am a bit disappointed. Some of my applications still take a while to load.

What kind of Vid Card are you going to run in it?

I have a Nvidia 4600ti, should be fine, its my 3 year old system thats the bottleneck.

Any idea about high speed gaming ram?

Your load time would be improved with striping raid, would cut it in half since it could get it from 2 drives instead of 1.
