What did you think about it?

I didn't go see it in the theatre, because I wanted to wait & see the directors cut version at home. I enjoyed the movie and the effects were great, but I felt like there was a ton of background info that was just assumed. It seemed like the movie could've been a 2 or 3 part series which would've allowed for more history & character development.

I saw it just last week and I loved it! It actually is part of a series. You can get all of the background info on the people if you watch Pitch Black which is the first in the series, eg. the girl in Chronicles is the "boy" in Pitch Black. All around, it's a fantastic set of effects and wasn't nearly as cheesy as i thought it was going to be.

i thought it was a really cool movie. it went a totally different direction than i thought it should have (he went from "just some badass" to "the last of a rebelious race to which he must stay true and fullfill profecy" which i thought was a bit cheesy. the whole time i was thinking "this is the best bad sci fi movie ever". despite what, in my opinion, drawbacks it had it was pretty good. id watch it again

I think I need to pick up Pitch Black and pay more attention this time when I watch it... Perhaps Cronicles of Riddick will seem a bit more connected then. Seriously, when I watched Riddick I felt like I was starting in the middle of a movie, and I'd missed all the story & background.

well look at it like this:

Pitch Black is a prequel.

chronicles of riddick is the 1st in the trilogy.
chronicles 2 riddick goes to underverse
chronicles 3 riddick will go back to furia

That's all i have heard so far.

Side note, the xbox game, Chronicles of Riddick escape from butcher bay is fun. Also there is an animated movie that takes place between pitch black and the first chronicles that is suppose to be good also.

CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK COMPLEATS IT

FURIA WAS DESTROYED BY THE NECROMONDERS AND IT WAS PROFICISED THAT A FURIAN WOULD BRING THEM DOWN, RIDDICK WON AND WAS THE NEW RULER OF THEM. IT WAS DESIGNED AS A TRILOGY BUT THE VIDEO GAME COUNTS AS A MOVIE, IF YOU HAVE EVER PLAYED THE VIDEO GAME YOU WOULD KNOW WHY BECASUE THE DETAIL AND STORIE LINE IS ONE OF THE BEST.
