Ok so my friend and I are having and argument what the "Greatest rock song of all time" is. What is your guys opinions?

I say its Stairway to Heaven- Led Zeppelin

I like freebird and stairway. Well, I did like freebird the first 100,000 or so times it was played. But the greatest in history for either of them? I don't think so.

My favorites of all time would have to be Highway to Hell and Thunderstruck. Both songs speak to me for some reason. The message isn't the one intended by the artist but I still love them.

Another favorite would be "If You Needed Somebody". But I wouldn't call it the greatest.

Kim Mitchell solo and his band Max Webster could rock alongside AC/DC anyday.

Gerry Lee Lewis and the other boys over at Sun records knew how to rock before the zep and skynyrd boys had their first kiss.

Somehow I just don't remember these. Might have to look them up and do some listening now. I'd be hard pressed to think anyone could actually play alongside AC/DC though. But then, on the other hand, I do believe that an invisible man who lives in the sky made the whole world and everything on and in it (quite a few kind of doubt me on that one)...so why not at least find this max webster band and give them a listen?

OK, so I do know Lewis, but never cared for him. My wife listens to him all the time though (and all the other old Sun stuff), but she started listening to music a few years ahead of me.

Maybe I'll get permission to look through her albums and see what I can find. She's still got every album she ever bought.
