Last Samurai VS Lords of the Ring
I've seen The Last Samurai and I thought it had one of the best story I have ever seen. Is LOTR better? I havent seen the final chapter yet.

I've seen both and liked last samurai more. I'm kind of tired of this fantasy stuff. As much as i hate Tom Cruise, the guy is a good actor and made another good movie.

I think the CG's in LOTR was better, but even though i thought the ending to last samurai was a bit corney, i'd say it had the better ending. LOTR went on AND ON AND ON!!!!
AND ON!
plus frodo and sam were fags, that kind of ruined it for me

haha no sh!t eh? It's because of all of the loose ends from the first two movies that it just wouldn't end...i really hated eliga wood, he ruined a big chunk of those movies for me...and when he kissed sam on the head i was like WTF??!!! get the hell off of the movie screen you fag..!

I never understood why he was called Mary.... seriously. The movie has a little too much manlove without a doubt, yet it was still enjoyable for the most part.

Both movies were excellent. I agree they can't really be compared.
After watching the Last Samurai, I realized just how ****ty modern war is. War used to truly be an art and skill. I understand there is still a great deal of intelligence and discipline involved in modern war, but pushing a button to drop bombs on people just seems like crap to me. I guess I feel there is a certain honor that went along with hand to hand combat. At least you were able to see your enemy on the battlefield and look them in the eye.

i agree so much. if you win a battle in hand to hand combat, it shows you really deserved to win that war out of heart and desire and courage. i dunno, its kinda hard to explain.

Last Samurai owns, Lord of the rings doesn't compare. I like both movies, but how well filmed Last Samurai was very impressive. Lord of the rings books is something to compare to Last Samurai, but don't even think of comparing the movies to Last Samurai. The movies were not done as well, as they could have been done.
