You better be talking about the orignal 12 angry men =)

Lock stock is awsome as well as anything by Hitchcock (I like vertigo more than Dial M myself)

Yeah the re-make is pretty good, but not as good as the original. It has Jack Lemon in Henry Fonda's role and the racist this time is Mykelti Williamson (Bubba of Forest Gump)

Some of my personal faves (Aside from those above): Memento, Shawshank Redemption (And the parody - Sharktank Redemption), Usual Suspects, Requiem for a dream, Clerks, 12 Monkeys (One of Gilliams Best along with Brazil and Time Bandits) and Donnie Darko.
Jakanden:

When you saw Requim for a dream did you see the edited version or the unedited version. i rented the edited version because that's all they had but was curious to know the difference between the two.

The unedited version is nearly identical to the edited. There is like 15 seconds of extra footage at the end (The party scene and the Hospital if i recal correctly). Its just more graphic imagery.

You are more than likely only going to find the edited for rent because when it first came out on video it was only NC-17 (The theatrical version), but Blockbuster and many other stores refused to carry it. So Artisan released an R Rated version missing a few scenes to shut them up.

Don't go out of your way for the un-edited as its hardley noticible (I may even be wrong on which scenes were added but i think those were the ones, id have to watch it again to be sure)

I never saw the end of Cube actually, - so Kitara, which one makes it out, and why do they survive? (Dont' worry, even knowing the endings of movies doesn't spoil it for me,...I'm not a "goal oriented" person,...I enjoy the "process" and "experience" of things,....like movies,....the outcome isn't the answer for me!) But I AM curious about who finally makes it and what the conclusion is as to why.
I don't know if this was answered yet or not as I did not read the entire thread. The one that makes it out is the one that seems to be autistic. He helps the girl figure out the numbers faster. They get to the bridge and he gets out. The girl gets stabbed by the freako cop guy and the one that had originally made the exterior of the cube stays in because......er....... I don't remember if it was because he said there's nothing out there for him or if it was a different reason.

When the autistic kid leaves all you see is a glowing white light and him walking into it so the "why" he's the only one that gets out is up for debate. I have read interpretations that the cube is like a middle road between heaven and hell and the boy that got out went to heaven. It's one of those movies that does NOT have a clear cut ending so that you CAN discuss it and decide for yourself what you thought the artist's vision was or if he even had one.

The designer of the outer shell was also stabbed. He grabbed the cop and kept him from leaving the cube by holding his leg as the cube shifted. He stayed in there because he was going to die anyway and it was the only way to keep the cop in =)

Yeah! Boondock Saints was a great movie. My brother in law kept saying that we have to watch this movie, over and over. Finally we rented it and he was right - Good Flick.

I also enjoy the B movies - eg .Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, etc!

Once I saw Boondocks Saints.. I was hooked. I went out and bought the DVD the next day. I forced my Mom to watch it.. and she's one of those conservitive people.. and she actually liked it. I herd it never came out in theatres because of Columbine. Anyone else hear this or know what happened?

AHHHHH - THAT'S right. Now I remember. And my husband was arguing with me whether or not he would have made it out.

One of my fave films has to be American Pie, I guess I could relate to it more because when it came out I was the same age as most of the characters (17-18) Just thought it was hilarious.
