Just the sound of iron clanging together gets me pumped. No need to have music to get me into the mood. I once had a partner who would use head sets. Everytime I was under the weight and needed a spot he was to into his music to notice. Needless to say, our working relationship didn't last long.

BTW -- I have to agree with your coach about country. Can only take that stuff for a song or two then gotta get back to some good ol' rock and roll.

The playlist of the CD I ripped for my workout room stereo:

Let's Get Ready To Rumble!
Guns n' Roses: Welcome To the Jungle
1 + 1: Cherry Bomb
Joan Jett: Do You Wanna Touch Me
Blue Oyster Cult: Go Go Godzilla
Tag Team: Whoomp, There It Is
Dire Straits: Money For Nothing
Daft Punk: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Village People: Macho Man
Elastica: Connection
Mudhoney: Pump it Up
Goldfinger: Superman
Mindless Self Indulgence: Bitches
Limp Bizkit: Break Stuff
Powerman 5000: When Worlds Collide
Baltimora: Tarzan Boy
Imani Coppola: Legend of a Cowgirl
Ghetto Boys: Damn It Feels Good To Be a Gangsta

Why? Because I already had it in a txt file.

Sublime: I forget the name,m but it's on the S/T CD and it says something about a rolling stone
Black Sabbath: Iron Man

KoRn: the new song
Mudvayne: Dig, Idiot

We just listen to the radio at my schools weight room. The funnies thing is when ever some one puts on something my coach doesn't like he yells out of his office, "WHAT THE F*CK IS THIS SH*T!" That gets me pumped more than the music.

Ummm.. Britney Spears, S-Club 7, Steps, Spice Girls....

NOT!

I agree with most of you on the heavy rock.. it really helps churn out the reps... But I like some good club tunes that are rough too... seems to get my head more in the mood...

And the best thing for relaxing is good old Chinese Traditional Music.... Long Live Chen Juan (really effective for Yoga - clears the mind)...

My workout music depends on my mood, but 90% of the time it's similar stuff to what you guys listen to. Static-X, Papa Roach, System of a Down, etc.. I listen to quite a bit of rap as well. Trick Daddy - In da wind, Nappy Roots - Aw Naw, etc..

For some reason, punk stuff doesn't do it for me at ALL in the weight room. Brittany Spears does about as much as Green Day, for me.
