Well I like the Dark metal to lift with (Amon Amarth, Doomsword).
But I am an Old time Van Halen fan Dave or Sammy no matter to me.
I will not see them this year because of how they treated Mike Anthony (bass player)
KISS and (JUDAS) PRIEST are up there for me too....
As for newer bands SHINEDOWN seems to hit me hard alot of what they write hits home with what I'm going through after 9/11. I guess the singer is a tourtured soul.
DRAGONFORCE (Power Metal)
I also like OPERATOR.

I listen to kind of the same stuff jaster listens to. But I also love the 80s power ballads...nothing like a nice love song with some hard rock or metal to back it up.

Hmm,....my idea of a "love" song would be banging my head to Metallica....
Does that count?
Given I listen to everything from classical to metal, that's a tough question, especially since I've been "moved" by quite a variety of genres. Maybe the circumstances have something to do with it. I know watching the music videos can be moving,....but you did specify radio.
Gosh, good question,....too many variables. But so far I'll have to line up with Da Jaster and V on this one.
Probably not quite what was expected when you posted this.
But out of curiosity, what was your intent? Being moved in what way? Powered up to lift? Or tearing up as in making you feel sad? What kind of emotion are you talking about?

I love music but don't have my finger on the pulse of who and what is new like you do. I'm glad you are back to keep me up to speed on what's good. I'd have never found operator without hearing about them from you first. Great stuff.
I'll be checking out dragon force.
I'm a bit behind. I only got Black rain last month.

Doesn't touch my heart,...but if you watch/listen past the first minute or so it gets interesting. Don't let the intro fool you. Interesting, I suppose, but needs to be viewed in full.

Yes i just watched "LIVE FROM THE INSIDE"
WOW
Shinedown just moved up my list again!!
Now they are just under Van Halen (my number one band since 1978...)

This day could be the worst one yet
I just won't relax I can't catch my breath
Because I'm sick and tired of you'll be fine
Well how do you know, can you read minds
So take while you can so you can meet demands
My insanity is what you thrive on
So rip it from my soul, so everyone will know in the end
We were never friends
Have you ever felt lost inside so unloved within that you almost die
Have you ever stepped out of the light and realized there's a stranger inside
Don't push your ignorance on me
I'm not unrehearsed to your jealousy
And I know you think I don't see the signs
Well how do you know, do I look blind
So take it while you can so you can meet demands
My breakdown is what you thrive on
So rip it from my soul so everyone will know in the end
I'm the break you're the bend
Have you ever felt lost inside so unloved within that you almost die
Have you ever stepped out of the light and realized there's a stranger inside

Black - Wonderful Life.
The one (and possibly only) song that will stop me in my tracks.
