I beg to differ. OK, I'm the biggest wuss you'll ever see, never seen a horror movie. I was scared to watch Butterfly Effect for gods sake. I'm scared to play Call of Duty on my computer because of all those Nazi's popping out behind me...

but I saw "The Shining" and I actually watched it through the beggining to the end. It wasn't really scary, IMO. Just a really good movie. It has a few AHHHHH parts like when the young lady turns into the old, rotting lady, and when the boy on the bike sees the twins chopped up, and the axe murder scene, but that's about it.

The Shinning wasn't too scary to me. I think its because I saw all the mockeries of it in cartoons before I saw the real movie...so it wound up just being kinda funny

Someone else like me!! I was afriad to see Secret window (which didnt turn out to be scary)

The Freddy, Jason, etc movies were a bit to chessy for me. The only scary movies Ive ever seen are

What lies beneth (I still cant take baths)

Ghost ship

15 MINUTES OF THE EXORCIST (i CANT WALK AROUND MY OWN HOUSE AT NIGHT WITHOUT JUMPING AT EVERY NOISE)

Over all Im never going to see a scary movie unless I am forced to. I enjoy my sleep and my sanity at night

I know I'm going to get nailed for this one but I actually like The Blair Witch Project . . . . .

Plus there is a scary move comming out this fall that was HUGE at Cannes and it has a real short title that is supposed to give The Ring 2 a big run for it's money. I think it might be called "Saw"

You guys are going to think i am weird there hasnt been a movie in years that has scared me. When i watched the ring i thought there was a few parts that where funny like those cut off figures in that little box. that was cool.

when i was little the parents didnt care what i watched. for one friday the 13th(the day) my mom let me rent all the freddy movies. and i wasnt even 14 years old and i thought they were cool but not scary.I shop for the scariest movies i can find i still think some of the old ones are the best.

Miget cop said a few that i havent seen, prince of darkness and amityville horror. if you have one that really scares you i would love to know

I just ordered Ju-On (that's the correct title) based on your recommendation. I hope it is as good as you say.

I dig Japanese Horror (as well as Kurosawa, but that's a different genre).

I thought The Blair Witch Project is probably the "most realistic" movie that gave me the chills. If you think about it, all other scarey movies are completely redundant and unrealistic, usually having to do with a psycho murderer. I found Blair Witch Project to strike me close to home because my whole back yard is lined by woods. I think that movie struck a fear in many people because being in the woods at night is frightening and not desired by many. I saw the movie when it was first came out and was speculated to be a real documentary. I stood motionless at the end of the movie! That was quite a while ago, I think if a movie can scare you even after you watch it then it has done its job.

Check out Japanese horror flicks... They are not as done up as the American remakes. They leave alot to the imagination. I think that is what has caused Horror flicks to go down hill.
