Scary movies

I just saw a preview for a shark movie, and I was thinking this better be good, because if it "ain't" JAWS its not worth it. Then I saw a commercial for another Exorcist? Whats up with scary movies? Nothing that has come out ohhh, in the past 10 years has been scary. What was the scariest movie you have seen?

I was a lil kid the first time I saw Jaws (my mom thought I was asleep and didn't know I was watching it cuz I probly was way too young heh) but it SCARED THE CRAP OUTTA ME...I had nightmares for months HAHAHA!!!
I love scary movies but occassionally after watching one I need the boy to check my room for me before I'll go in hehehehe
I think the scariest movies I've seen lately are Jeepers Creepers and it's sequel. The boy bought um cuz he'd never seen them before and despite my warnings decided to watch um alone. in his truck. at night. LMAO!!!!

I heard a report on this and they said it has something to do with the fact that in modern society we don't really get that fight-or-flight response that often..so scary movies simulate that response by getting you all tensed up but you get to stay safely in your seat.

The Ring was pretty scary I thought, atleast in the theatres. The Cell had some messed up scenes in it as well. "moki lok is the boogie man...." thats creepy. ha. Despite all the bad reviews I thought The Village was pretty good, suspensful and kinda creepy in parts.

The scariest part of The Ring for me was when the girl sitting behind us SCREAMED hahahaha I was paying attention to the screen and was not expecting sounds to come from behind me!

Past 10 years? nothing. You want to talk scary, I saw Friday the 13th, the first one, when I was 8 years old in my family room at around midnight by myself with the lights off. To this day I have not seen a movie that has come close to scaring me, except maybe IT but only becuase I was a little kid.

yeah i agree i think when your younger you get scared easy. I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre the other night, alone and that was kinda scary. Also another one at night and if your alone is Event Horizon. I thought that one was kinda freaky.

I take it back, I really liked TCM (remake) it wasn't over the top or anything, just the right ingredients to make me scared, believable. Even though its not a true Texas story, I wasn't on my way down any dirt roads or half-way deserted towns around here!!

Child's Play...only because I saw it when I was 4 years old...and happened to have my very own "My Buddy" doll at the time. My brother is a bastard for letting me watch that. Poltergeist too...made me afraid of clowns and dolls that look like clowns. Freddy movies used to scare me when I was younger too. Right now I'm afraid of dolls, clowns, dolls that look like clowns, and evil supernatural dream invading psychos.

Ok ok ok. Most of you guys have NOT even seen the scariest movies out there:

Nightmare on Elm Street (the first one only)
The Exorcist
The Shining
Prince of Darkness
Amityville Horror

The Ring was pretty scary as well. Especially the scene where you see her crawling out of the well and towards the TV screen....and then walks OUT of the screen!
