"The Terminal" Review.

Another overrated, Spielberg movie, starring, surprise, Tom Hanks.

There are many reasons why this movie just plain sucks, but the most obvious ones would be:

1.) TOM HANKS

The man is quite possibly thee most overrated actor in Hollywood, and coincidentally probably one of the most overpaid. Ever since this bastard made his break into Hollywood by falling in love with a mermaid ("Splash"), and playing a very "wimsical" character named Rick Gaskko in Bachelor Party, he's been constantly being praised by Ebert and the late Siskel as what I like to translate into as, "wonderfully mediocre". Don't get me wrong, I think Hanks is a good actor, but enough of him already. I once broke into Blockbuster just so I could set fire to every copy of "Turner & Hooch" and "You've got Mail". I loved him as the retard in "Forrest Gump", and even gay ole' Woody from "Toy Story" made me spring with excitement and wiggle joyfully from my pants, yet, he likes to remain within the Spielberg equation A-list actor + huge budget = huge annoying film...and, his accent makes every country that has a Russian-sounding language want rub their nuts and eardrums with sandpaper. He'll get off my list of boring when he dyes his hair blonde and plays a pimp, but you'll see nothing new from this man in "The Terminal".

2.) THE TERMINATOR HAS A MUCH BETTER PLOT

Who cares about Tom Hanks stuck in a airport when you can see California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger blasting innocent civilans, wearing black leather, and kicking major ass? Or, you could even rent the second Die Hard and see twinkled-toe'd Bruce Willis take on terrorists trying to take over an airport, not fumble around an airport, buying Burger King meals with quarters? If you want to waste 8 bucks, watch "The Terminal" and then head home to watch QEFTSG. If you want to be entertained, you put The Terminator (which you damn well better own) into your VCR/DVD and hit "Play". Now.

3.) CATHERINE ZETA JONES

Is it a coincidence that if you mix up the letters of her name that you get "INSANE AZTEC JEW ON HEROINE"? Okay, maybe that's not exactly right, but it comes close. Anyway, she doesn't get naked in the film, there are no cleavage or butt shots...so why even bother? She's a exotic Spnaish lady that looks pretty on camera, we get it. She plays a stewartess in this film, and not only does she make me want to observe her profession on my next plane trip, but also vomit at the same time. Horrible.

4.) THE MIXED ETHNIC DIVERSITY

Spielberg wants people to see all the types of people that venture into the dangerous and dramatic world of the airport. Yet I'm not convinced, even with the stereotypes stumbling past the camera in their kimonos or African tribe dresses.

5.) THE PLOT

Loosely based on a true event, Tom Hanks lives in a airport. No, he isn't kept detained, no realistic procedure is folllowed, but he actaully lives in the airport, where he has to figure out on his own and form relationships with the baggage handlers (who in real life would want nothing except to work and get paid) all the while being observed by Homeland security, run by a bald man (Stanley Touch'me) that is nothing short a prick. Might I mention that you might see your friendly advertisers throughout this film, including Burger King, Horizon Wireless, and many more.

Moved this to Movies, Music and Games.

While I havent seen this myself, a number of other critics I talk to have and they loved it. I will tend to take thier word about this movie over yours especially considering your number 1 reason is TOM HANKS as why the film sucks.

Umm...have you even seen it? If not, how can you criticize?

Tom Hanks rocks. He's a phenomenal actor, director, and personality. He deserves every dollar he makes. What do you mean "enough of him already"? As far as I know, this is his first movie of the year. Moron.

She's English, not Spanish, moron.
And they're called flight attendents, not stewartess. Get it straight.

The movie is set in an INTERNATIONAL airport terminal. What do you think, that only white people travel? Moron.

As opposed to the constant remakes, and recycled plots we have to deal with year after year in the box office? At least this is original. Oh, and did I mention you're a moron?

Last I checked, she was Welsh.

Disclaimer: I have no opinion on this movie.

Saw it.

Yeah, sure he's phenomenal...if you mean "phenomenal" like the movie "Phenomenon". Just go look up who he stole his Academy award away from for Forrest Gump. Phenomenal Director? Hes directed about 7 projects, one of them being "That Thing You do!". Moron. Who the hell cares about his personality? I never mentioned that.

Exactly, that's as far as you know.

No sh-. You might see I was aware of that in the review. I said "The Terminator" has a better plot, so even so, that has nothing to do whether it's a true story. Moron.

I was referring to her past film "The Mask of Zorro" in which she plays the exotic piece-of-ass. I think I've, regrettably, seen enough movies to deduce she's English...oh no wait, she's Welsh. Moron.

They were called stewartess and are now called flight attendents. Wow, I've never heard that correction before, you must really be on the level.

I never said you'd only expect to see white people? Or did you just assume that? Yeah it's an international airport, but I've been to more airports than you've seen on pictures of or on T.V, and frankly I still don't see stereotypes with that range of a variety on everyday occurence, even at the NYC airport. But perhaps you'd know that if you weren't cooped up so much. Moron.

Original? How is it original if it's based on a true event you imbecile? Most people think "The Shawshank Redemption" is an original story, but then again they're morons, just like you. This movie is no exception.

As far as remakes, there are some but there isn't a consistency of them, twit.

Good read Jak : The movie from the previews looks good and interesting except I don't like that it looks like it turns into a sappy love story.

And Tom Hanks is an awesome actor.. Saving Private Ryan?
