You are right. This place has changed and will continue to change. That's the way it is. That's the way life is.

There are many people here being active, posting great threads, offering great advice, and lending support to those who want a cyberspace ear to lean on. That's the way it should be.

To those who say this place isn't what it used to be - what are you doing to make it better?

Not if the nonsense was restricted to a nonsense subforum. I liked the nonsense. Its like saying TV should only have informative content and nothing else.
Some of you may say, well then for nonsense contet go to other sites.

I like having everythinh packaged into one site - I dont want to get one tv for news, one for sports, one for cartoons....
Or, in this case, discuss news with one set of people, sports with another set, nonsense with yet a third set....

You should be able to have an open discussion in here. Always give 110%, dont let the bar drop:

Yea i think for balance the General Chat section was great, its a place for all of us here at DiscussFitness to talk about non-fitness things, and kind of be able to sit back and relax.

But little kids coming on General Chat and starting flame wars is something that was annoying, i guess its all about tolerance and acceptance of others, part of life.

how about a general chat that is only available to a group, which you must request to join? then itd be easy to kick people out

i dont really think that would work very well. It there is only a select number of people allowed to post there then your just going to get the same views on issues over and over again. I really think closeing the general chat section of the forum was a step back and was only done because people were taking what other people were saying to heart. If you look at almost all of the other Bodybuilding forums they have a section for non-fitness related sectioney dont seem to have a problem with it.

I think general chat areas are fine. Like life, its not all about working out and eating right, if you dont have a social life, etc then what is life worth living for eh? I think general chats allow members to get to know each other, why they are here, what they think about, almost letting each other know that we are all human and not bots on the internet with 42 inch biceps and a perfect wife/husband and children and house, etc. It would make me feel much better that when I work out, the members of this site go through the same rigamorol as everyone else does.

The only thing I really miss from the General Chat section is Andy's stupid jokes. How about a stupid joke section?
