So whats the worst thing you guys have done in the gym. Mine is quite stupid, as you would expect from me. One day i thought it would be a goo idea to invent a new exercise that i called the inverted pull up. What this involved was grabbing onto two pullup bars that were paralle to each other and then rotating myself 180 degrees around so my arse was in the air. I would then start pulling myself up and down so it would work my bi's. I did this for a few days with great results, until i lost my grip and almost broke my neck when hitting the floor from a 6 ft drop. All good fun tho.

I haven't done anything *too* stupid, but there are a few slipups where I was glad that I had some assistance...

Once I tried to bench a weight that was too high without a spotter - I couldn't get the weight back up, so put the bar on my stomach. Another lifter saw my struggle and promptly came over and lifted the bar off me one-handed (grrrrr!:P).

Another time I couldn't finish a squat that I was lifting - because I couldn't get up I had to lower myself down to the safety bar, which was set REALLY LOW because I didn't properly adjust it for my liking. Let's just say that my back was fuddled for a few days after that.

lol, i had another one today. i was just doing some close grip bench pressing and had 88kg on the bar. i just did 9 reps and failed on the 10th. this really pissed me off. Luckily i have safty catchers on my bench so no harm was done. i quickly got up and for some stupid reason i thought i could row the bar with all the weight on back up to the starting position. Well i started, got the bar half the way up and was struggleing. so i thought if i tip the bar to one side a little i could get half the bar on the top catchers and then use to hads on the other side. well once i got the half on all the weights on the other side just slide off cos i didn't put the clippers on very tight. Of corse once one side came off this meant that the bar are completly unbalenced so the other side slid off from about 4ft height strainght onto my wooden home gym fall. I still had the bar in my hand tho . the hole street must have heard the noise. ooops
