which mp3 player
I'm thinking of getting a new mp3 player but wasnt sure which one to get. I was thinking maybe the dell dj 15 gig. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with it? Or if there is a better one to get? I have noticed a lot of people I know have an ipod and was wondering is that is a superior mp3 player? thanks

The new IPod all the way hands down. Nothing else comes close to Apple Computer products right now!

I've been eyeballing the Sony walkman for awhile because of the 20 gigs of storage. I think it's a hard drive based system though, so that means no shock-resistance.

Recently bought myself an iPod mini. It's the greatest thing since sliced-bread! I take it with me everywhere...it's extremely simple to use, and iTunes is very user-friendly. The sound quality is excellent, although the earbuds that came with it kind of stunk (luckily I already had a pair of decent Sony headphones). It's extemely light-weight and is awesome for going to the gym.
It's pricey, but my girlfriend swears by Apple products, so I thought that I'd bite the bullet and make a real investment.

The $249 on the cheapest version is a bit overboard imo.

Hey man, like I said, it's up there in price. But for me it was worth every penny (up here in Toronto I paid $400 with tax).

As much as I hate to say it, iPod is the best. I have a flash Mp3 player from iRiver...I love it. But for one with a hard drive, I'd go for iPod hands down.

Yeah, I was checking out the iRiver models last nite at Best Buy, but they only go up to 256mb. There was a Panasonic model that had 512mb for just under $200, but I think I'll wait till the price goes down a bit.
I'm definitely going with a flash model, because I want the shock resistance so I can workout or work in the yard with it. I'm going to pick up some noise reduction headphones to go with it as well, but they're kinda pricey so I'm doing alot of online researching first.

My good sir, if you go to iRiver.com, you'll see that they have a bunch of players with 512 MB Flash, and even some with 1 GB Flash. The 512 MB ones cost around 199 and the 1 GB ones cost around 250. Pretty decent deal if you ask me. And all of iRiver's product's are quality...but check out the reveiws on cnet and stuff just to make sure.

iRiver do a 40gb model, which I've seen in action at work. They store everything like a 40gb HD would, and they even have a screen that will display text, e-books etc. It's the only real contender I've personally seen to the iPod so far.
I'm gonna wait till the iPod 40gb's come down in price (the 60gb is due out soon which will drop it down) then get one.
