I agree with you. The black album was the best album they ever put out, in my opinion. :

No way, ride the lightning is the best they have ever done... followed by Master of Pupputs!

massive slayer fan here... i don't workout to it.. as i don't have a portable player.. and our gym plays the worst music ever.... but i'd love to hit a big set as the main riff to "angel of death" kicks in.... never get tired of that song.....

YES! I love slayer when I workout... any of their stuff. I guess my favorites are Alter of Sacerifice, Postmortom and Seasons in the Abyss!

I used to feel that way until St. Anger came out. I dig it! To me it sounds like they've finally gotten back some of the angst they had back in the "And Justice..." days.

There isn't a Slayer CD I don't have! "God Hates Us All" is awesome, great workout disc. The ironic thing was its release date 9/11 -Yep the same day as the attacks on the U.S.

Their first couple of cd's are really good, but raw. Show No Mercey is awsome with tracks the Anti-Christ, Show No Mercey, and Die by The Sword it is not "white" metal -They were/are the leaders in "black/death" metal.

Hell Awaits actually shows some musical growth and yes the lyerics are hard to understand but it isn't like canibal corpes where the singer sounds like he is barking... Highlights "Hell Awaits, At Dawn They Sleep, Necrophilliac"

Diabolus is really an awsome CD, kind of Slayer catches up to the modern age of metal!

South of Heaven was very differnt from what everyone was expecting as the follow up for Reign in Blood, but still one good disc.
