20 meters time..


Well I am 23, 1.76 m tall and I weigh 78 kilograms (sorry about the meters and kilograms but I am Eurpoean..). I am new to sprinting and so my time for a 20 m dash is something under 3.80 sec. I wanted to ask is that an average time for this event in spriitng, or am I way way under the average?
Also I wanted to know what could I do to improve my sprint time (only for the 20 m dash).
I go to the gym 3 times a week, and lately I was wondering if any of the weight-lifting is hurting my speed and explosiveness.
Thanx for any advice in advance.

well that's a few yards longer than 20 yds.... and I, as a lineman (big slow football player) run it in 3 flat or something like that.... so that'd be slow, in my approximation.

Gee, it is slow than..
Did I mention that I start from a high start position..So I start different from the usual sprint start..
Any help on how to inprove my time is welcomed.
20 m = 21.9 yards
176 cm = 5.77 feet
79 = 174 pounds
