Football Size

I am 15 and I am going to be playing football this season. I want to try out for free saftey. I am 5' 8 1/2'', 149lbs. I run a 4.9 40 yrd. dash. I am not sure about my max bench(haven't maxed out in awhile) but my squat is 250lb. and my deadlift in 290lb. Do you think that I will have trouble at this postition and if so what position would you recommend.

Make sure you find a position you enjoy and don't be afraid to change if you don't like it.

Skyman makes an excellent point. The position you most enjoy 99% of the time you will be best at. You are squating and deadlifting, so you are on a good path to build size which will come with time. Keep working hard on trying to improve your speed.

You'll be fine. Work hard this season and learn as much as you can. By the time you are a senior you'll be bigger and faster.

You might want to think about an offensive position as well...most high school players go both sides of the ball.
