Fractured Wrist - please view

It true, I fractured my scaphoid bone in my wrist/hand last week from boxing to hard without any protection! How dumb was I? I usually do martial arts and never wear gloves, but then we dont need to since the impact on punches isnt the same as boxing...

I went to the hospital (after a week of home treatment RICE etc )and the doctor asked for a couple of x rays.

He looked at them slightly puzzled and told me. Ric, i suspect you have a scaphoid fracture. I looked at him, suspect? He said he can't be sure, it could be a hairline fracture, so he put a cast on me for 2 weeks, this ween im leaving for holidays in 5 days!!
And to think technoligy was better than this!
Has this type of situation occured to anyone? How long did it take to heal?
Im optimistic about it, because i had no pain, just some slight dificulty moving the wrist....

Im so pissed of... cant shower properly or dress.. ahh... cooking becomes even harder... I ve lost weight already ... bah

Because of the delay in seeking treatment your wrist started to heal, so he was no longer looking at a fresh injury. That would make reading the X-ray more difficult than normal.

Not much you can do about the cast Tuga. Just be patient and you willl be back doing the things you want to soon. Enjoy your holiday as best you can!

"Frequently, scaphoid fractures are not visible on an initial x-ray."
