how to jump higher for basketball?

i did a search on the forum and didn't find anything. what kind of workouts would be best to strengthen the legs (and whatever other muscles are used) to be able to jump higher?

I'm thinking traditional things like squats, lunges, calf raises, leg presses, etc. if this is right, what kinda reps/weight should i be gearing towards to get a higher vertical?

There is a topic less than 10 topics down on the list in THIS forum called "Vertical Leap." You should check it out.

isometric exercises. Theres a book at ironmind.com called rock, iron, steel written by Steve Justa, he explains how he used them and he built a heavy vest and was wearing it 8hrs. a day for one month, that made him do crazy things on the basketball court, he was really into basketball.
