improving 100 meter dash time

Right now my 100 meter time is a 12.4 this is my first year in track and i know i only run full speed for like 50 meters. Do you guys think i can brink my time down from a 12.4 to a 10.9 by june after winter and spring track season is over?

With proper coaching, it might be possible. It depends on how raw you are.

Glad you decided to join us here at Discuss Fitness. But you may also want to hang out at Welcome to ELITETRACK if you really want some good stuff on track training.

Why don't you start your own online training journal here like many of us do. It would be fun to witness your improvement as you chase your sprint goal.

Squat...seriously

i used to run th 40 in 5.6 and after squatting and growing i was able to bring it down to a 4.9 ...keep in mind that i am definetly not a sprinter (i did cross country for 2 years)

i even saw people bigger than me (fatter) that brought theirs down from the 6 seconds down to a low 5.2

Plyo

Learning the o-lifts may very well be a good idea, but I personally don't think it's a necessity... If you do go that route, stick with it, as the learning curve is fairly flat...
