Losing muscle with fat?

Hello,
My name is Chad, and im 21..5 ft 11" 193lbs. I have been training pretty much to hit the fighting championship. I also train to feel good, and to look good. Of all my workouts my worse is bench press. I have a small gut im trying to get down. Im trying to rip my abs,and lose a little body fat. From what im hearing from other people is that when you lose fat, you lose muscle first. My diet has gotten more healthy, and I started running alot. I do not want lose strength in this process. Im wondering if thats a fact, and what are your thoughts.

All comments are appreciated.

Chad

Not if you eat right. Abs are mostly controlled through diet and proper exercise. What does your diet look like now (example?)

Give an explicit example of your diet, please. No one can help you without information.

Well for instance I ate oatmeal, eggs, with a little bit of olive oil for fat. I kind of follow the Zone diet for balanced meals.

One question I have is that my wife take propoline and Excelerin. Will these two diet pills cause loss of muscle also? Im looking to lose about 8 lbs or so.

Is this one meal? or all day? If it is one meal then fine. If it is one day - start eating more!

Oh my God - Why don't you send me the $bucks and I will tell you how to lose fat. I have not seen a diet pill that will do what good 'ol fashioned hard work does. There is no magic potion pill.

Im with you on the diet pill thing, but my wife started taking it, and it seems to be working for her. I just started today to help me cut and lose body fat.

Yes that is just one meel. For lunch Ill eat chicken breast green beans, and a type of bread. I eat three times a day. For supper Ill eat a similar balanced meal.

You may have to do some experimenting. Some people can't lose the last bit of fat with 30% fat intake. Make sure you dinner meal is mostly complex fiberous carbs and some protein. If you eat pasta, potatoes and lots of bread late then it can detract from fat loss goals.
