Soccer Training

Ive got soccer trials coming up in february next year!
I want to get a good routine going to make sure im in great shape for it.

I have just come back from a hamstring injury which has had me sidelined for about 3months(reaccuring). Anyway i have been running to keep my heart ticking over and a few light weight sessions, but now im ready to put it in ready 4 next year (Over a Two month period).

I have team training on Thursday and a match on saturday. So im looking for a routine thats gonna get my cardiovascular in tip-top condition(stamina) and i need to work on my strengh also. I have a slim build which is fine as i am a pace player, but i do need to work on being stronger on the ball without jepodising my speed.

Any help or suggestions would be great

Patrick

A soccer fanatic here

Use the Brazilian soccer secret; capoeira. Stronger legs, better soccer players.

Lots of core working is essential. Working abs and hip flexors will strengthen your balance and power. Strong Hams & Quads will give you extra power striking the ball.

I'd suggest incorporating squats, leg raises, cruches, hyperextensions (maybe deads as well), good mornings, and standing leg curls.

strong shoulders are also crucial in football. (sorry soccer to you guys)
