More information please...

current status? (height weight bodyfat)

how much do you want/need to lose?

basically 'getting ripped' is stripping fat from a solid muscle base. If you HAVE a solid muscle base, then you can continue to lift heavy, add some cardio and tweak your diet to create a caloric deficit.

if you do not have a solid muscle base.. that is if you are 'skinny' but still not 'cut', then you have more work to do. You will need to first BUILD up the muscle base, before you can strip the fat. If you try to strip fat from a body that is already underweight, you are heading for trouble.

As for dietary habits, well, eat clean : stay away from cakes cookies candies alcoholic beverages chips sodas etc

did i miss anything pierini? obviously waffles and pancakes are allowed

with those stats you should already be pretty cut. How was that bodyfat measurement taken?

I am guessing then that you only want to lose a couple of pounds, since you probably already have some kind of six pack showing etc.

Dietary tweaking will be needed.

Some more information is required from you if you want more detailed help : what is your diet, what are your workouts like?

Eat clean. Figure out how many calories you should be taking in each day, then cut 250 off that figure. So if you need 3,000 a day to maintain your current size, drop to 2,750. That should give you a safe, slow cut.

Now, incorporate some speed work into your cardio. Do some tabata (search here for more on that) or do intervals at the track, on the treadmill, on the elliptical, etc. That will kick your metabolism into high-burn mode, which will speed fat loss as long as you keep that diet strict.
