Lance Armstrong. Anyone who has all these cancerous diseases and can win 7 tour de france races in a row is amazing and inspirational.

I admire any person who has started out in as bad or worse physical shape than I was 14 months ago and have taken themselves to even greater personal gains without drugs or surgery. They are incredible role models. I enjoy reading about their success stories and strive to emulate them as best I can.

Sportsman (or women) : Lance Armstrong/Ricky Carmichael

Musician: Guru - from the rap duo Gang Starr

Any Person :
Henry Rollins, Mike Vallely

of course i look up to lance, you read about what he has accomplished and how hard he works/trains and you can't have any sympothy for yourself. Ricky Carmichael is a professional motocross racer, those guys train sooo hard, and he has taken the sport to a new level.

as far as my other choices, I look up to Guru because he sends out a positive message w/ his lyrics and i respect the way he lives his life, no drugs/drinking. Henry Rollins is a big inspiration for me, his music, his poetry, his books, everything I have a great deal of respect for him. Same w/ Mike V. he is a professional skateboarder the way he skates is inspirational, he; like henry and Guru doesn't use drugs or alcohol. and he believes strongly in giving back to the skate community and participating in the lives of the young.

there are so many other people i look up to, i couldn't even list them all here (well i could but i'm too tired)

Its amazing that anyone would win the Tour de France 7 times even if thay haven't done it under those circumstances. Fair play to him I reckon.

For me I look up to my Dad (nuff said!) and any one really who is at the pinnacle of their art (be it sport, music or whatever). Striving to be the best but still yourself is the ultimate goal IMO, success or failure is unimportant so long as you can say that you are learning from your experiences.
