Who is watching the Olympics?

I am. Since I don't own a television, all my viewing thus far has been via the internet at www.nbcolylmpics.com. NBC has revolutionized how the Olympics are viewed. Their website is absolutely fabulous and has set the standard for future Olympics' websites.

What are you viewing? For me, lots of judo and weightlifting thus far, but I did catch some women's fencing (saber). Those judo men and women are tough hombres and mujeres. Olympic judo today seems so much different that what I remember from long ago.

I plan on getting lots of track & field in too. There is so much more I'd like to check out but I need to refrain. As is normal, it is sure putting a strain on my work productivity.

I'm watching. It's my chance to watch sports I normally wouldn't watch or enjoy such as handball (looks like so much fun to play!), volleyball, gymnastics, swimming, etc. I'm also enjoying the wrestling, soccer, basketball, weightlifting, etc. The weightlifting is absolutely amazing. I feel so weak watching these amazing men and women hoist amazing weights like they're feathers.

Michael Phelps has obviously been the story thus far and I'm interested to see if he could finish off with a perfect Olympics record for '08 which would only add to his already building legacy.

btw, they were talking about Phelps' regular diet and how he consumes 12,000 calories a day!!! Pretty amazing how he remains so lean with that calorie consumption. He's definately working his but off.

I am! I just turn on the tv for an hour or two at night and watch whatever is on. The commercials do bug me (seriously, every couple of minutes it seems!!) but it is fun to watch.

My favorite is gymnastics; also have been watching swimming, cycling, volleyball, and boxing.

Last night I watched mens flyweight boxing: those guys were the same weight as me!

so far I have not seen any weightlifting.

Ditto. Ive seen mostly rowing, swimming, diving, track, marathon, Beach Volleyball and mens n womens basketball either on NBC or other nbc affiliates at the bar n stuff... I did just watch mens fencing today... that has got to be the worse sport by far to be in the olympics... that and the horseback riding competition thing... how the hell is that an olympic sport, its based on the horse not a human... the one I saw today the horse was getting ready to jump its 5th wall and it halted and started shaking its head, and the rider had to back him up and go around the wall or try again I missed that part, but like I said thats all on the horses abilities not the people and what country they represent. whatever anyways...

I think the judging is a bit loopy at times.

Last night they gave the gold to the chinese gymnast for male floor exercise. In my opinion the guy who took silver should most defintely have taken the gold, as in my eyes his routine was superior to that of the chinese.

Also last night I got to see some of the fastest women in the world run... wow, those ladies can move! I didn't stay up for the final as I was too tired, but the semis were amazing. One woman got a sub 50 on the 400m. It is something to watch these women run, they are so darn fast it is ridiculous.

minime, did you catch women's marathon? It's not something I'd normally watched, but the Romanian winner had pulled about a minute ahead of everyone else and we just had to see if she could keep up that pace.

I can hardly believe they can keep running for that distance, much less at that pace.
