A Few ???'s
Hi, new here. Just a question...
I've been working out recently and been doing benching and curls. I've notice that my left side of my chest is a little larger than my right side, is there something that im doing wrong or is it just how it is the first few months? My left side of the chest is a nice round shape while the right side is a deform looking round shape are there any exercises I can do to correct this? I can only lift about 100 lbs and usually its on a flat bench. Im 5'9 140 lbs.
Another question, I want to look like triple H. How do I get a massive chest and massive abs? I mean after a few years of working out do my chest and abs naturally become larger than what its suppose to be? I've been looking at Usher and he has weird looking abs.. they're not perfectly down the middle and has a wierd shape.. I think I have the same problem, is there a way to correct this?
Another question, I usually work out everyday.. benching at my friends house. Is it bad that I bench everyday, mostly twice a day ( morning, evening ) I mean I was sore the first couple of days but now Im kinda used to it.. is it bad at all?
Also, my girlfriend is very skinny and wants to gain weight. Any suggestions? I was thinking that maybe she could take some protein with me and just work out her arms.. will that make her bulk up a little?
Any comments and suggestions please thanks

muscle size and shape is genetically determined. one side is *always* going to be off-kilter since we're not perfectly even on both sides. try this: take a picture of your face, then duplicate it. cut the two photos down the dead centre, then scan them and reverse them so you have identical but mirror images. put identical halves together - the result will be close, but it will look different then your face.
triple H looks the way he does because he's got great genetics and a great payroll to afford a great trainer, a great diet, a great exercise program, great exercise equipment, and great steroids.

yes. muscles don't grow in the gym - they grow in the rest periods. no rest = no growth. you'll get stronger, but that's about it. you want to work the muscle HEAVY and no more often then once every three days.
why only bench? for a strong body, you need to work your WHOLE body.

just because she's a girl doesn't mean different rules apply to her. you AND your girlfriend need to read the stickies throughout this site, paying particular attention to posts by cursor, Lady C, jaster, mostmuscle, todd, and other experts. you should follow one of the diet regimens (since without the proper nutrients, there is no growth) and you also need to pick one of the strength and cardio routines mentioned, such as one of cursor's or MaxOT ( www.ast-ss.com)

First of all you don't get big by just working the chest. You need to work the WHOLE body. Your muscles grow while at rest so working out everyday is detrimental. You need to read thisand this.
Your muscle shape is genetic. So if your abs look like Usher instead of Triple H that is the way they are. Sorry. Just like you can't spot reduce you can't spot grow.
Your girlfriend should workout the SAME as you. To gain weight she needs to eat and train just like a male. She will not get big and bulky since she has low testosterone. Work ALL the muscles, rest and eat right.

Thanks 3N and Lady C, I actually didnt see the sticky and after reading it yesterday I kinda understand it now. I did register for MaxOT and is just waiting for the email to come though. I am pretty small and not develop yet and pretty scared of having a deformed body. I wish I did have the finance like Triple H to have a personal trainer but since I dont I have to depend on MaxOT. Thanks again

just a quick word in the ear re: relying on a program - bad juju that.
sure MAX-OT is good, works for some if not most, but more important IMO is understanding training principles (like work, rest, nutrition etc..).
Rather than rely on a 'program' get the hang of lifting and eating correctly and go where your body tells you it needs to go, it'll take time and patience (and MAX-OT is a good interim measure to be sure) but eventually you will come upon your own killer program (until your boby decides it has got all it can out of that one and says it needs to change )
more power to ya bro, let us know how ya fair.

I've just read the first week of max OT. Has anyone on this board actually done this 12 week process? whats confusing me is some of the exercises say 4-6 Reps per set and some say 6-8 reps per set, but at the bottom where the * is at he continues to say always do 4-6 reps, so thats kinda confusing me. I think Im going to try the program. Is it bad to read on to week 2 when I havent done week 1 yet? I want to learn about eating correctly and warm ups. I mostly eat burgers, fries a coke sometimes rice pizza chicken.. nothing really healthy and I really cant gain weight.. Im only 140 so just wondering does he have a eating correctly section? Also, he doesnt mention anything about drinking a protein shake before or after working out? Do I still drink a protein shake after a workout and in the morning? When am I suppose to drink a protein shake and how much per day?

okay - definitely, read ahead to week two. the warmup routine is invaluable.
protein shakes work best if you take one before and immediately after working out.
*in general*, exercises are 4 to 6 reps ***unless otherwise stated***.
i did the routine up to week 8 but then got interested in powerlifting instead, lol.
read cursor's and LadyC's posts about healthy eating - using a site like www.fitday.com to track and monitor your intake will help you there.
