AC joint

Two physical theripist students (just short of graduation) whom I am friends with looked at my shoulder and agreed (independantly) that I had AC joint problems. Anyone know how to prevent injuring this further? I really sucked I was out of action for 1.5 weeks and haven't had a good chest workout in over a month.
