Last Sunday whilst performing standing calve raises, I pulled or sprained a muscle on my right ankle called the peroneus brevis or it could be the tendo calcaneus. Even today it's still aching and I avioded calve raises. What's the best cause of action to take? Avoid training, or rest it?

Indeed. I know how hard it is to just stop training, but when injuries like that occur, especially in areas as delicate and tendor as your ankle, you should take it easy and DO NOT use it, stay off of it as much as possible and let it fully heal. Ankle injuries are not only painful, but extremely annoying. good news is, at least you can continue with upper body:
