Other than the
high intensity nature that everyone here likes and the 12 minute duration, I found yesterday a shocking benefit I'd like to share. I've been running ONLY guerilla cardio since I started doing cardio (for the first time since high school) 3 months ago. At that time, I needed to walk after a 6 or 7 minute jog, much less the sprinting that's involved. It was pretty pathetic.
This week is my last week of cutting and I decided to shake things up for a final pound. I decided instead of the guerilla cardio that I would take a long-distance run at a decent clip (I have nothing to measure speed or heartrate). The long and short of it is, I ended being able to run 3.7 miles in 30 minutes, roughly 7.2 miles an hour with some sickeningly steep and long hills involved.
The morale of the story is that guerilla cardio has major benefits aside from its ability to shed fat. My endurance and wind is through the roof after a couple months with it. So if you like it, stick with it. Its not just a one-dimensional fat-burning tool.
