I actually have to agree in part with Mr. Izzo on this one, although from what I have observed over time is that there is a direct correlation between the guys that hit the chin-up bar pretty hard and the size of their arms. They are usually the biggest/strongest guys in the gym.

stand thats true about the bicep but then we get into forearm development. FOr example hammer curls reverse curls and regular curls all help you develop different parts of the forearm.

I have to disagree with this. Yes, a curl is one action, but the way in which you perform the action will place more emphasis on different regions of the biceps.

I am not saying one can isolate any one portion of the biceps, but the emphasis (stimulus) can be shifted so that an area of the muscle does recieve more stimulation.

So that is why I agree with using say 3 exercises for biceps instead of simply one exercise. Even just changing barbell to cables will stimulate the biceps differently...and that is not even taking into account using different angles to hit them differently.

I am not saying that just doing barbell curls is no good and won't give you awesome development. but I think to get even better results, you can definitely do this by using a few different movements to hit the biceps slightly differently....to achieve more complete development. Just my .02 cents tho.
