i would love for this to be a forum. i doubt i will ever actually comkpete, but i would love to read on the forum. this is because i love to learn more about weightlifting, whether i practice it or not. this way, i can further my knowledge and incorporate it into my workouts to become the best lifter i can be.

I am striving to gain a bit more thickness, and overall lean mass with little to none fat gain before cutting down in the beginning of January.

do you count calories? or do you just make educated guesses on what to eat, and listen to your body?

I don't see how it could hurt

I can't see any reason as to why this would be a problem. It would be great for those looking in to participating in an event.

No, right now, I am not counting calories and more or less going by what I know from experience on how much protein, carbs, fat etc I need and at what times. When pre-contest time comes, and it's time to diet down, I will calculate exactly how much of each macronutrient I will/should be taking in and then fine tune it from there as I see necessary to do so.

that seems odd to have it set by height you can be 6'1 bean pole, 6'1 tub'o'lard or 6'1 bull-ox i dont know how you can judge someone soley on height as their weights can vary greatly. perhaps height AND weight? that would seem better to me.

well they usually only do it in ameture comp, just to see where everyone is at that height. because its hard to judge a 5foot5 body builder against a 6 foot 2 one. thats why i feel alot of the shorter guys in the mr O (lee priest) have been robbed over the years. but usually if it isnt a height comp, they will still try and match ppl up with others their height to go on stage for the pose offs.

The contest I am entering in April is judged by weight classes. So, it won't matter if I go up against guys who are 5'3" or 6'5", if they are in the same weight class, I will be competing against them. But even if a guy does weigh more than me, it does not matter, all that does matter is that I come in and present the best package overall with the best conditioning. Bodybuilding is about illusions, and one can easily look a lot bigger than many guys who actually are bigger if he comes in cut, conditioned with good overall mass in the right places with great symmetry. All of that put together is what can make you look twice as big as the dude next to you who outweighs you, it all depends.

I am looking to come in as a middle weight. But what weight class I really do end up in is not important, what is, is that I come in with the complete package and do my best.

I like back double biceps, front lat spreads and artistic one-armed poses (one arm flexed and one pointed out, or both semi flexed.) I am trying to always make sure that every muscle group is highly developed so no matter what pose I do, I will like it and show what needs to be shown. The ones that are my least favorite to do, are the ones usually I know I need to work on.
