Bodyweight fluctuations

I'm always wondering why our bodyweight fluctuates from day to day and what are the reasons when gaining mass? Am I not getting enough calories or protein etc?

don't weigh yourself from day to day - ever. just weigh yourself once a month, first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom.

I weigh myself daily, first thing in the morning for consistency. The standard advice is that you shouldn't weigh yourself this often. To each his own. If it works do it. If it doesn't, don't.

Weighing myself daily works for me and that's why I do it.

The advice is "if you weigh yourself daily don't read too much into slight fluctuations in weight." It is for those who mistakenly obsess over scale weight on a day to day basis. I've seen people who gain a pound or two from one day to another and they FREAK out, its stupid.

Nothing wrong with weighing yourself daily though, it actually gives you a better progress chart to look back on once in a while to make sure you are following a trend in the direction that corresponds with your goals.

not if you're like me and your weight can fluctuate by as much as 15lbs within two days due to water.

I meant as far as recording for future use. When looking back on the trend after a little while (1-2 weeks or so), the extra data isn't going to hurt anyone.

Just remember your weight is only one part of the equation...
