Burst blood vessels??

Ok so after the gym today, I got home...and was looking in the mirrror when I noticed lots of TINY red dots around the skin under my eyes, where you usually get bags. Im not so worried about it but I was just wondering if anyone else has ever got this? Im guessing they are tiny burst blood vessels from straining in the gym...as the skin there is where its thinnest on the face...anyone else had this?

I've never had this happen on my face, but definately on my upper back on squat day.

Yeah, you just pushed your self a little too much. I've gotten that all over my face after the flu from puking and so forth. It happens...and yes, I get this really bad on my shoulders from squats as well.

I get it on my shoulders from squats but just assumed it was from the bar...

They may be burst capillaries from pressure on your face. Did you press your face into anything--maybe prone hamstring curls? It could be that or a allergic reatcion to someone's sweat or purfume when you had your face down in a bench.
If it doesn't clear up, I suggest you see a MD.

It's normal when you're straining against heavy weight. Good work... did you make the lift?

I regularly eat fresh blue berries to try and combat this sorta thing.

Apparently they help thicken the walls of your veins and arteries

It is nothing to worry about just as Dan C said, I get blood shot eyes and sometimes blow blood vessels in my eye lids and it looks like a sty(SP) for a few days. My training partner will get a bloody nose when he does heavy squats.

The annoying thing was I had a really bad workout....which is probably why I had to strain harder than usual lol. Ye I wasnt too worried about it as i said, just wondered if it had happebed to anyone else. Its all gone now anyway...until the next workout

I had the exact same thing happen when I was rest pausing heavy decline presses. Were you breathing properly? I know I was holding my breath too often while trying to push forcefully. I've regulated my breathing every since and have not had the problem again.

I wonder though if this type (described above) is bad though?????, is this the type of thing that happens with all the "geared" lifting?

I've never experianced the tiniest vessel blow, although I can see it happening (being normal) like described in the begining of the thread, and perhaps breathing is off during a lift.
