I run three times a week. Tuesday 6 miles, Thursday 4.5 miles, and Saturday between 8 and 10 miles.

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. For endurance, long distance running, I feel, is best. If you want to maximize your muscle gains, you want to keep cardio to a minimum. So it just depends on what your goals are and what you're wanting to accomplish with cardio.

At the moment I'm pushing about 4 miles in 30 minutes, which is the maximum time I'm allowing myself. I'm going to attempt (been lazy on the cardio the past few months) to maintain that for 2-3 days a week. Some people will recommend more, but when I was going 4-6 miles 5 days a week I became extremely skinny to the point that I thought it was unhealthy. If you're going to run that much or anywhere near it make sure you get enough food, because you end up burning a lot of calories.

Amen to that Cort. Even after cutting my running back to three times a week with one being an 8-10 mile run, you would not believe the amount of food I am putting away and not gaining one freakin' ounce.

I lift 3 days a week and on the odd days I do cardio. 20 mins with a 5 minute cool down on an eliptical machine. :

I don't do cardio during my offseason, because I have a naturally fast metabolism, so my fat levels are kept at an ok level, even while eating tons per day. For a competition tho, or to get more ripped, I will do Max OT Cardio.
