to burn fat? it may well be wasted time. If to get into "fight condition" then it serves a purpose.

The two best ways to do cardio for fat burning that I'm aware of are...
1> HIIT (done for 15 minutes) to get you into an all day fat burning mode. If you can go longer, then you didn't work hard enough. If you can't make the 15 you worked too hard.

or

2>Lower intensity, for up to an hour, first thing in the morning before breakfast while glycogen stores are lowest. That way you are working on stored body fat rather than glucose (and glycogen converted to glucose when glucose stores are burned up).

Two sessions a day isn't going to be MORE effective than either of those for fat burning. Been there, tried that. Got down to the size L Tee shirt.

Remember too, fat burning is like all other results...it's done in the kitchen. Eat for the results you want.

Good luck to ya. Need more specifics just ask and someone will try to help you.

thanks. my calories are at a good level. just seems like its hard to drop weight without lots of cardio. eating around 1800 to 2000 a day 150 pounds. dont want to lower them to much. dont want to eat the little muscle i do have. need to drop 10 more pounds I do sorta a hit cardio everyday for around 25 to 30 mins. kills me good. sprint for a few mins then walk for a few

I actually cycle out on good days which takes me 25 miles in about 1hr 20 mins.
But when snow or ice is about i do indoor bike which is 4x15 mins at 120 revs per min this burns about 1000 cals and with the aid of a heart monitor i know im in the fat burning zone
So i see no problem breaking cardio up in to 2x30.
Remember some is better than none

Are you doing any resistance training? That is really essential to preserving muscle mass.

Also, I'd consider substituting high intensity, shorter duration cardio on 2 days a week.

Hi,

Try to combine cardio and weight training together. You could achieved maximum fat burning by doing this way.

I really dont do that much cardio. I do a cardio warmup of ten minutes, then weights, then I'm lucky if I squeeze in 20 minutes cardio after my workouts. So far it does the job for me. but everyone's different, I suppose and it depends on what you're looking to accomplish. I still burned off lots of fat and almost 25 pounds doing it this way.
