Changing Width for Traps

Could someone tell me just briefly please when performing upright rows, what difference does it make on your traps from a WIDE grip to a NARROW grip, please.

This is NOT scientific evidence. Just an anecdotal statement from what I've noticed when I do them. It may be different for others.

When I do them with a closer grip, I feel them more in the traps - not the top of the traps, but the back of them mostly. If I go wider, I feel them more in the deltoids.

Some people say not to do upright rows because they can be tough on the shoulders. I find that by keeping my grip closer, this is not a problem for me.

Close grip = more focus on traps
Wide grip = more focus on shoulders

Try it, you will see.
