Coping With Humidity

If like me you have a gym that's "not" air conditioned, except by leaving the big doors open have that problem with training heavy as humidity takes it out of of you. Any ideas how to cope with this please?

Not sure how you will be training...

- If you are training with maximal weight and longer rest breaks, I would think you would be able to cope with it.

More water and sodium consumption (like gatorade). Sit in a tub of ice water or simply ice immediately after training (I love that one).

I would also think you would climatize eventually/

Also be sure to train in light clothing such as Climacool/Climatelite gear by Adidas or the Dri-fit gear by Nike. This stuff really breathes and does make a difference (its all I wear year-round in the humid Florida weather).

Your traditional cotton t-shirts will only hold your sweat and make you more uncomfortable.

Train in a 10x20 metal building with no ventilation, heat, or AC. That will toughen you up so that a big non AC gym will feel great.

Agreed. The cold is worse than the heat. Suck it up.

Now I'm not just saying "suck it up". Just that you can get acclimated to it and it's then not so bad.

Great idea there Mostmuscle as I'm hoping to by some new clothing from a tall person's shop in the UK as most gear here is difficult to fit me. So yes relaxed lose fitting clothing would be great.

The humidity is the worst part, and I know where he's coming from. It does take it out of you after a bit. Best thing is to wear light clothing, drink LOTS of fluids, rest a little bit longer between sets, and find a fan to stand in front of. Also, maybe drink a gatorade or something like that prior to working out.

try taking a spare vest or t shirt and keep it in an ice box with you as you trail, change shirt every 12 mins and your feel fresher.
Ice box in uk is not a fridge its a mobile box with ice packs in
