I don't like a handful of things about Max-OT, but if you are looking to be spoon-fed off the bat, go with that. You'll still get the pump I'm sure you can't live without and its plenty heavy. I'm sure Todd will pony up some details if you asked really nicely, after doing your homework that is.
The spoon-fed comment is in no way a diss on Max-OT users, just simply noting that its comes with a ridiculous amount documentation that lets you know exactly what to do. Somehow I would imagine vets like Todd have tweaked it just a bit.

Yes, those rep ranges are good for strength and size gains. Just remember though, in order to raise your strength...you must log what reps you get for your working sets and then strive to beat them by 1-2 reps each successive session. When you successfully reach the upper end of your rep range, then add the smallest increment of weight to the exercise for next time...then work from there...again striving to beat your recorded reps from session to session.
Over time, your strength will go up...as will your size.
Again tho, I have to reiterate....make sure you are eating enough of the right foods, getting your rest, etc..or else all the correct training in the world will not produce ANY gains. Diet is THE biggest key.

Todd did you ever go away from training with MAX OT? I never heard if you did. Last time we talked, you were still doing MAX OT religiously (4-6 rep range).

So in 3 months your bench went from 275 x 1 to 140 x 7?

The length of time it will take you depends on many factors...
1) How well you eat throughout each and every day
2) The type of effort you make to do a bit more each and every chest workout (ie: add more reps...up the weight when you reach top of rep range)
3) How well you consistently get enough sleep to allow for full recovery between workouts.
4) How quickly your body can naturally adapt to new stimuli that you provide it each and every workout session. (the above variables have a definite influence though.)
5) How well you can pay attention to all of the above variables.

That would most likely do it.

Exactly. Real simply, with strength, comes size, and vice versa. THAT is a generalization. However, there are ways to train for one or the other more so.
Trust me, the bodybuilders at me gym are huge. Some of them disgustingly huge. Most of them meatheads. Bodybuilders like Todd are rare these days. But that is besides the point.
My point is, don't sit here and say Strength training tears you up and is bad for you, that's ridiculous. If you train stupid, yeah its gonna happen.
And don't use bench press as an example, that's spoken like a true bodybuilder. You mentioned bench pressing 300 pounds is useless. Yes and no...some ways your right, depending on your sport.
But squatting a bunch of weight, power cleaning heavy weight. Deadlifting heavy weight...ALL is helpful...alot more so that looking like you can and hurting herself scratching your back(I've known guys that have done that while training for size)
