decline problem


I do decline db bench press the problem is that the bench I managed to get is somthing like 75deg not 45deg....is that a problem or it will do more or less the same??

75 degrees how? if it's a bit more level than it would normally be, that's fine. if you're practically standing on your head, then no - it's not the same.

my bad I ment incline for decline it fit's....the incline should be 45deg

Ideally the incline should be even less than 45 degrees. At that point it's too much shoulder and not enough chest.

20 degrees is ideal, 30 degrees max.

I've heard that before three...just curious if you had any studies/facts if it's just what's been passed down from experience?

that's what it says on the MaxOT site and also what a couple pro trainers (good ones) say - i never actually researched it.

it makes sense, though: the pectoralis major only had so much of a range. after that, the pectoralis minor kicks in. the problem with the pectoralis minor is that they don't abduct the arms - they shrug the shoulders forward. therefore, it's the front delts that have to take over the main job of abducting the arm from the pectoralis major.
