How tall is tall? Im 6' and my calves are the one thing on me that I LOVE. They have been sexy for as long as I can remember

But I think it is just the way I walk, more so on my toes..

I'm pretty sure I could ADD direct calf work nowadays get some better devoplment, I was more so talking about my newbie gains, I was eating low fats and carbs then and was simply not strong enough to get great calf results, a rest from all the calf rasies and more compounds and walking with very heavy weights and eating made the gains, it's just that I'd rather spend my time in the gym now working something else than calf rasies.
(I have my whole life to play around with calf rasies)

as a matter of fact I really still do calf rasies, they are called cleans, and high pulls, only 200lbs isn't going to blow them up much more, I have to work up to 300lbs :

5'10 is not tall, even by bodybuilding standards.

Don't get me wrong, I love being in the gym. I love working out, and I even like many of the people there (even though some are a little weird). But I do have a life outside the gym. I also start to get mentally very tired if I spend more than 45 mins on weights. a 5 min warmup ,30-40 mins of weights followed by 20 mins of cardio and 5 mins of stretching is what works well for me.

I've usually had to include it to feel any results. I've ditched it a couple times in favor of my compound leg lifts, but it never seems to work as well as keeping it around, and pounding out a few sets for my calves has never been difficult or time consuming enough to merit throwing it out.

Lol, it makes me laugh when I see people down the gym training calves on the machine performing half assed really fast little movements without using full ROM. The only problem I find training calves tends to be that my feet start to slip slowly on the foot rest or the padding over my shoulders is too crushing.

I have the shoulder crushing issue too. I think the pads on my gym's machine are old, and they're hard as a rock. Try it on the leg press.
