disc problems..

I just got some results from my MRI and my doc tells me my lower back pain is being caused by a disk bulge at L5 S1 and partly from degenerated disc disease (dehydrated discs). I just started physical therapy if anyone has been in my situation and could give me some pointers I would greatly appreciate it.

Just saw this thread. Do the physical therapy. Do the stretching. If your doc agrees, see an osteo or a chiro. These things may help. If possible, do whatever you can to avoid surgery.

My wife had surgery 6 years ago and still hasn't recovered.

Some people never recover after surgery. It's a gamble unfortunately. Just try not to lift too hard with exercises that may injure you more.

Don't have surgery if you're offered it. Steer clear of Chiroprators, they're a waste of time.

Everybody on earth has disk degeneration by the time they're adults.

that's a load of BS. i know a *lot* of older adults (50s and 60s) with no disk degeneration. oddly enough, they're the ones who had "proper posture! proper posture!" thumped into them at an early age. furthermore, i fully believe i wouldn't be in the condition i'm in now if it weren't for a chiropractor treating me after a serious fall on the stairs when i was a kid - the accident left me paralyzed for a couple of hours. today, i only have a lower back that goes spastic once or twice a year instead of the chronic lower back pain the doctors told me to expect.

Threehorns you need to grow up, are you upset because I disagreed with you in another post, aw didums.

As usuall, you're talking about something you know nothing about. You know people in their 50 and 60s with no disk generation eh? How do you know that; have you operated on them? What you're saying is nonsense so I'm not even going there. You don't know what you're talking about.

Read a book.
