exercises for strained back

I strained my lower back a few weeks ago moving furniture around the house. Had to take 2 weeks off from working out(I just hate skipping my workouts!) so it could heal. Well couple days ago I tried working out again, since most of the pain and soreness went away. Everything was fine during the workout, but a couple hours later I felt pain and unusual stiffness. Guess it was a bad idea starting where I left off. Probably would've been better to ease back into it. Ugh, too late now

Anyways, I just wanna know what exercises I can do safely without reinjuring my back. Should I lift lighter weights or none at all? Are ab crunches okay? How bout walking or riding stationary bike? Also, what type of stretches would help? Thanks

Start your workouts again but use lighter weights for a couple of weeks to get back in the grove. Make sure that your form is impeccable! Any sloppiness will show up in your lower back pain again.

Make sure to do ab work. Strong abs a great way to a strong lower back.

Try a good old fashioned bridge. I do the bridge on the top of forehead (not all my forhead which is the goal) without any arm support for 30 seconds to a minute at a time. I do this 3 times 3 times a week. It feels great and if you're afraid of injuring yourself you can use a swiss ball as support and/or your hands.
